Our vision
Dementia research people can trust, understand and use.
A trusted national voice for brain health and lowering dementia risk, known for clear, reliable research summaries.
Closing the research-to-care gap
Good dementia research takes years to reach the people it could help. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit in South Bend, Indiana, started by a neuropsychologist whose own mother was diagnosed with dementia, and we exist to close that gap.
- Risk reduction and brain health. Clear summaries of what the evidence says about lowering dementia risk, and the habits and numbers worth watching.
- Physician alerts. Fast, trusted notices for clinicians and families when new medication and treatment findings change what good care looks like. Educational, never a substitute for a clinician’s judgment.
- Faster research. Studies stall when they cannot find volunteers. We point adults 18 and over to Careberry’s IRB-approved registry, voluntary and free, so scientists can finish their work sooner.
Trusted experts, led by our founder and board, review and edit every summary we publish.
Why we started
Our founder, Dr. Chad Edwards, is a clinical neuropsychologist. When his mother was diagnosed with dementia, he saw how slowly good research reaches families. He started The Dementia League in 2022 to change that.
Our board
Everyone on our board is a volunteer. We have no paid staff.
