Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect on dementialeague.org and in our emails, how we use it, and your choices. Effective date: October 1, 2026.

Who we are

The Dementia League is the public name of the Center for Integrative Dementia Research and Prevention, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit at 3608 Pleasant St., South Bend, IN 46615. Email Support@DementiaLeague.org.

What we collect

• Contact form. Your name, email and message.
• Newsletter. Your email, and your name if you give it.
• Donations. Givebutter, our donation platform, handles your payment. Your card details never touch our site. We see your name, contact details and gift amount so we can thank you and send a receipt.
• Research participation. The registry is owned and run by Careberry. When you follow our link to sign up, your information goes to Careberry under its own privacy policy. We never receive it.
• Site usage. If we turn on analytics, we see general information such as which pages are visited. It does not identify you.
• Cookies. A few small cookies help the site work. Embedded services, such as the donation form, may set their own.

How we use it

To reply to you, send the newsletter you asked for, process and thank you for donations, improve the site, and meet our legal duties as a nonprofit.

Who we share it with

We never sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with the services that run the site: Kinsta (hosting), Brevo (email), Givebutter (donations), and the social platforms where we post. We may also share information when the law requires it or to keep someone safe.

Our social media tools

We use Meta (Facebook) and X developer tools only to publish and manage our own posts and to show our own public X posts on this site. Those tools handle technical details such as page and post identifiers and publishing status. We do not use them to collect private profile information from the public, and we never sell or share platform data. Access credentials are stored securely and used only by authorized administrators.

Keep health details out of the contact form

Our contact form and newsletter are not built to protect medical information. Please leave it out.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
• Email us to see or delete the information we hold about you.
• For anything you gave Careberry when registering for research, contact Careberry directly.
• You can block cookies in your browser settings.

Security

We use secure (HTTPS) connections and limit access to the volunteers who need it. No method is perfectly secure, but we take care.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page.
