Get help now
If you or someone you love is facing dementia, you do not have to work it out alone. The free helplines below are run by established organizations, not by The Dementia League. They are the fastest way to reach someone who can help today.
Talk to someone now, any hour
Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline
Free and confidential, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For people living with dementia, caregivers and families. Trained staff can help with next steps after a diagnosis, caregiver stress, care planning, dementia-related behaviors, and finding services near you.
This helpline is operated by the Alzheimer’s Association, independently of The Dementia League.
Information and referrals, weekdays
NIH ADEAR Center
The Alzheimer’s and related Dementias Education and Referral Center is part of the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health. Call for information about Alzheimer’s and related dementias, caregiving, research and referrals. It is an information line with weekday hours, not a crisis or counseling line. Check current hours on their website before you call.
About the ADEAR Center on nia.nih.gov
The ADEAR Center is a federal service, independent of The Dementia League.
If someone is in danger
If there is an immediate risk to anyone’s safety, call 911.
What The Dementia League does
We are a small volunteer-run nonprofit. We do not run a helpline. What we do: explain new dementia research in short, trusted summaries, help you find research you may be able to take part in, and answer questions by email. Write to Support@DementiaLeague.org and allow a few days for a reply.
Be a research hero.
No diagnosis needed. Adults 18 and over, caregivers welcome. Always your choice.
